Gandy
Dancer Trail
Located
directly behind the Lodge, this former Soo Line railroad has been
developed into a multi-use, recreational trail system for biking and
hiking in the summer, and snowmobiling in the winter. Stretching from
St. Croix Falls to Superior, the 98 mile trail passes through Burnett,
Douglas and counties in Wisconsin and Pine County in Minnesota. In
addition to scenic views of lakes, rivers and forests, the Gandy's
close proximity to towns and marked mile post signs provide easy access
to food and information.
Bike
permits are required on the Gandy for anyone 16 years or older --
daily permits are $3 and annual permits are $10. A seasonal permit
is also required for snowmobiling. All permits can be purchased at
the front desk.
